IS All DIVORCE SIN?

By The Scriptures

The scriptures prove that it is wrong for any to judge people that have suffered a divorce: They take the following scripture out of context...

Matthew, 5:32, “...and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commiteth adultery.”

First of all, notice that adultery is the sin; not divorce. Now let us put this in context by more from Jesus...

Luke, 19:9, “And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, commiteth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”

Can you see the exception here? So, if one commits adultery and there is a divorce because of it: they are free to marry. Also: Do you think the woman is bound by the law if she is married to a wife beater? Do you know the Lord? Do you think that the Lord forgives mistakes? We be glad that in the end the Lord will judge His people; and not the scribes and Pharisees. True; the apostle Paul says...

First Corinthians, 7:11, “But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.”

If we let Paul continue, we see again an exception...

First Corinthians, 7:15, “But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God has called us to peace.”

We do not condone divorce. Husbands and wives should keep their vows. Yet by the Spirit and Word there are exceptions. Also, if a believer be married to an unbeliever; it does not mean that they must divorce; it is also written...

First Corinthians, 7:13-14, “And the women which has an husband that believeth not, and he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.”

There are some that divide families by taking this scripture out of context...

Second Corinthians, 6:14, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

Paul has already spoke to the same matter when it comes to husband and wife (he already said that they are to be left alone if it please them to dwell together). If we let him continue we see that, he is not talking about husband and wife, He is talking about the church body mixing with pagan bodies...

Second Corinthians, 6:15-18, “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

So, are you a minister that will not allow a divorced person to be married by you, or in your church? Did you know, that at one time, the Lord divorced Israel? As you have done to the least, you have done to Him. Again, we do not condone divorce, but the Bible speaks of exceptions. Are you one that tells others to be married or to get a divorce?

Mark, 10:9,  "What therefore God has joined together, let no man put                            asunder."

So then, who among you can tell what God has joined together, or when God is saying, enough is enough? The matter should be worked out between the married couple, and not by people playing God; meddeling!
